Good to know
- Do my customers need an account?
- No — and they never will. You add them. Their only touchpoint is a link to their car's history, with nothing to sign up for.
- Do I need to install anything?
- No. Mechy runs in the browser on any phone, tablet or computer. You can add it to your phone's home screen if you want it to feel like an app.
- What if I don't want to use part of it?
- Skip it. Don't need a quotation, don't send one. Don't want to track parts, don't. Nothing downstream breaks because you left a step out.
- Is my data safe?
- Yes. Everything is encrypted in transit and at rest, every sensitive action is logged, and each person only sees what their account allows — an owner, a mechanic at the counter and a member of staff don't get the same access.
- Can I move my existing customers over?
- Yes — import them from a spreadsheet, or add them as they come in.
- What is Mechy?
- Mechy is garage management software for auto repair shops in Cyprus. It covers the whole working day in one place: appointments, the workshop board, digital inspections with photos, parts and stock, quotations, invoices, receipts, end-of-day cash-up and reports. It runs in the browser on any phone, tablet or computer, in English and Greek.
- Is Mechy made for garages in Cyprus?
- Yes. It is built in Cyprus for Cypriot workshops. It handles Cyprus VAT, keeps Cyprus public holidays in the calendar, prints the VAT number and Tax Identification Code a business client needs on their invoice, and works in Greek and English.
- How much does Mechy cost, and what do I get?
- Every plan includes the whole product: appointments, workboard, inspections, parts, invoicing, end of day, reports and the accountant export. - Is there a free trial?
- Yes. Every new shop starts with a free trial, and no card is needed to register. You pay only when you choose a plan, and subscribing ends the trial straight away.
- Can I use Mechy in Greek?
- Yes. Each person chooses English or Greek for the screens, and each client can receive their SMS and emails in their own language. Invoices are issued in English, so the customer, the accountant and the tax office all read the same document.
- Does Mechy handle VAT, invoices and receipts?
- Yes. Quotations, invoices, credit notes and receipts come from one numbering sequence with VAT calculated per line. Documents print on A4 with your logo or are emailed as PDF, and receipts print on an 80mm receipt printer. An issued invoice is corrected with a credit note, never edited.
- Can my accountant get what they need?
- Yes. For any period you can download six spreadsheet files: invoices, credit notes, receipts, debtors, VAT and expenses. Or give your accountant their own sign-in that only opens the reports.
- Does it send messages to my customers?
- Only two SMS, both useful: a reminder before the appointment, and a message when the car is ready, with the amount due and your closing time. Quotations, invoices and a private link to the car's service history can also be sent by SMS or email when you choose.
- Can my mechanics use it too?
- Yes. Each person gets their own sign-in with only the access their role needs: full access, mechanic or accountant. The mechanic sees jobs, inspections and parts, but not your takings. Every action is recorded against the person who did it.
- Can I try it without messing up my real invoices?
- Yes. A test job goes through the full flow, from appointment to payment, with its own numbers. It never reaches your reports, stock or accountant export, and never messages a client by itself. You can also create a training account for a new mechanic that can only ever see test work.
- Does it work with Google Calendar and my phone contacts?
- Yes. Appointments can sync both ways with Google Calendar, and your clients can be added to your phone's contacts through your Google account, on Android and iPhone alike.
- Does it replace paper job cards?
- Yes. The job holds everything a job card did and more: the parts, the labour, the time spent, notes, inspection photos and the invoice draft. The workboard shows every car in the shop and what each one is waiting on, readable from across the workshop on a tablet.
